Micron leads the industry in next-generation memory technology development and implementation

December 23, 2002 - Micron Technology, Inc., has demonstrated the industry's first 1 Gigabit (Gb) Double Data Rate (DDR) synchronous DRAM (SDRAM) components manufactured on 0.11µm process technology. Micron's 2.5 Volt 1Gb DDR SDRAM components are packaged in industry standard 400 mil TSOP packages and they meet the leading-edge bandwidth requirements of DDR SDRAM memory systems.

Micron offers a broad range of DDR SDRAM products to meet the diverse needs of desktop, portable, networking and graphics applications. The 1Gb DDR SDRAM meets the demand for high-bandwidth and low latency while increasing the memory density needed for future high-end desktop, server and mainframe applications. Initially, the 1Gb DDR SDRAM will be used in 4 Gigabyte (GB) registered DIMM modules, providing the higher memory density needed in server applications.
