Application Notes
- Add Current Limit to the BUF634PDF, 63 Kb, File published: Sep 27, 2000
Modern buffer amplifiers, such as the BUF634, are often used with op amps to drive high-current demand loads such as cables or eletro-mechanical devices. BUF634 features internal overload protection to prevent its destruction under fault conditions. Internal current limit protects circuitry and wirebonds from excessive current. Internal over-temp shut down protects the device from excessive temper - Combining an Amplifier with the BUF634PDF, 72 Kb, File published: Oct 2, 2000
The following application note descibes a combination using an op amp with the high-speed buffer BUF634 located in its feedback loop. Depending upon the op amp selected, large signals with output currents of over 500mA into the MHz range can be attained. - Power Amplifier Stress and Power Handling LimitationsPDF, 55 Kb, File published: Sep 27, 2000
To achieve reliable power amplifier designs you must consider the stress on the amplifier compared to its power handling limitations. Power handling limits are specified by the Safe Operating Area (SOA) curves of the power amp. Stress on the amplifier depends on amplifier load and signal conditions which can be evaluated with straightforward techniques.
