Vishay Intertechnology's New Ultra-Miniature SMD Quartz Crystals Combine Low 0.8 mm Profile With Wide 12 MHz to 25 MHz Frequency Range for Handheld Electronic Devices

Vishay XT23 XT35

Vishay Intertechnology introduced two new series of ultra-miniature SMD quartz crystals with wide frequency ranges of 12 MHz to 25 MHz. To enable smaller end products, the XT23 and XT35 offer ceramic packages measuring 3.2 mm by 2.5 mm and 5.0 mm by 3.2 mm, respectively. Both devices feature a low profile of 0.8 mm.

With their wide frequency range, frequency tolerance of ±30 ppm at +25 °C, and compact size, the devices released today are optimized for handheld electronic devices such as PDAs, GPS units, MP3 players, notebook computers, PCMCIA cards, and Bluetooth® communication equipment.

The quartz crystals operate over a temperature range of 0 °C to +70 °C, with a temperature stability of ±50 ppm. The XT23 offers ESR from 70 Ω to 100 Ω, while the XT35 provides ESR from 70 Ω to 80 Ω. The devices feature seam sealing and emboss taping, and are compliant to RoHS Directive 2002/95/EC.

Samples and production quantities of the quartz crystals are available now, with leads times of eight weeks.
