Analog Devices announced it has extended its portfolio of leading RF ICs with the ADF7020-1 transceiver. Designed to address the SRD (short range device) wireless connectivity applications in home and building automation, wireless video and audio, AMR (Automatic Wireless Metering) and security applications, the ADF7020-1 is a single-chip, transceiver solution for the 135 to 650MHz frequency range with good co-channel and adjacent channel rejection.

About the ADF7020-1
The ADF7020-1 is a low-power, highly integrated UHF/VHF transceiver IC with a range of 135 MHz to 650 MHz operating frequency, which includes the popular 315 and 433 MHz bands. The transceiver supports data rates of 0.15 to 200 kbits/s FSK (frequency shift keying) and 0.15 to 64 kbits/s ASK (amplitude shift keying). The device operates on a +2.3 V to +3.6 V power supply with programmable output power from -16 dBm to +13 dBm in 0.3 dBm steps. Its receiver sensitivity is -119 dBm at 1 kbits/s FSK, -112 dBm at 9.6 kbits/s FSK, and -106.5 dBm at 9.6 kbits/s ASK. Current consumption is 18 mA in receive mode and 27 mA in transmit mode (+10 dBm output). Other features include on-chip VCO (voltage controlled oscillator), fractional-N PLL, on-chip 7-bit analog-to-digital converter, digital received signal strength indication (RSSI) and an integrated T/R switch. Its leakage current is < 1 microamp in power down mode.

The ADF7020-1 is sampling now and will be available in production quantities in November 2005. It is offered in a 7x7mm RoHS compliant LFCSP package and is priced at $1.99 per unit in quantities of 10,000.
