The release of the new HT95R5x/HT95R6x devices form new additions to Holtek’s existing 8-bit Phone MCU range. Their main features include 8K or 16K of Program Memory capacity, 2112 bytes of Data Memory, 40 I/O pins, an 8-level Stack, an internal 16-bit Timer, an RTC Timer and four external interrupts.
In addition, all series include a 12-bit D/A converter and an SPI/I2C interface. By interfacing to an external Flash Voice Memory, designers have the ability to easily create many kinds of voice types. Such a range of features make the devices especially suitable for voice function communication applications. With a software LCD COM function, it is also possible to implement an LCD driver at low cost by using the application program. Regarding packaging, the devices are supplied in 64-pin and 80-pin LQFP packages.
The HT95R5x series devices, with their internal DTMF Receiver and Generator functions are suitable for the general phone communication application area. The inclusion of an FSK Receiver function also opens up the application area of telephone products that can display incoming call information.
The HT56R6x series MCU, is further equipped with an internal CPT (Call Progress Tone) Receiver function, further expanding its application area. This range of features will allow the devices to find excellent usage for products such as multi-function phones, cordless phones, answering machines and household security products etc.
All HT95R5x/HT95R6x devices contain the same excellent features of high functional integration, low cost and low power consumption. The devices share the same excellent noise rejection characteristics as all other Holtek 8-bit MCU devices, and by including an internal watchdog timer features also enhance their immunity against malfunction or erroneous operation. Holtek supplies a highly functional hardware and software development system which includes a voice editing function, real-time emulation, full memory/register access, hardware breakpoints with logical setup features, full trace facilities etc. These features add up to ensure that product designers are fully equipped for rapid product development and fast debug times.
