Tim Regan is Linear Technology’s manager of applications for signal conditioning products (amplifiers, comparators, filters, precision references, timing functions and RF circuits). He has provided applications assistance on all manner of analog semiconductor devices at Linear & National Semiconductor since graduating in 1973 with a BSEE from DeVry Institute of Technology. Tim enjoys the occasional round of golf. He is now retired.

- Isolated PWM suits low frequenciesMany industrial- and medical-system circuits require isolation from the mains-ac power. You can often send a signal across the isolation barrier using a small transformer; transformers do not pass low-frequency signals...12-04-2023
- Anticipator circuit speeds signal settling to a final valueThe circuit in this Design Idea anticipates, or jumps instantly to, the final voltage of an input-signal change. It relies on the fact that the intended input signal changes exponentially with a known time constant....05-04-2023
- Simple Energy-Tripped Circuit Breaker with Automatic Delayed RetryIntroduction A circuit breaker protects sensitive load circuits from excessive current flow by opening the power supply when the current reaches a predetermined level. The simplest circuit breaker is a fuse, but...15-07-2020
- Add Simple Temperature Monitoring To Battery-Management SystemsEnvironmental concerns are spurring the development of clean transportation alternatives. Most popular are full electric and hybrid electric motor vehicles, which use stacks of lithium-ion battery cells as the electric...23-01-2018
