TheHSMP-386xseriesofgeneralpurposePINdiodesare designedfortwoclassesofapplications.Thefirstisattenuators where current consumption is the most important design consideration.

The second application for this seriesofdiodesisinswitcheswherelowcapacitanceisthe drivingissueforthedesigner. The HSMP-386x seriesTotal Capacitance (CT ) andTotal Resistance(RT )aretypicalspecifications.Forapplicationsthat requireguaranteedperformance,thegeneralpurposeHSMP383xseriesisrecommended. A SPICE model is not available for PIN diodes as SPICE doesnotprovideforakeyPINdiodecharacteristic,carrier lifetime.
