The AIC111 is an ultralow-power, fixed sample rate, sigma-delta codec with a sample rate of 40 kHz and a usable bandwidth of 10 kHz. Typically, most applications process data at sample rates of 8 kHz, 16 kHz, and 20 kHz. This requires that the DSP or microprocessor connected to the AIC111 decimate the incoming data from 40 kHz down to the required sampling frequency, and interpolate the data back

Record and playback audio, sound, or voice on a TI touch screen controller (TSC) or audio codec (AIC) EVM system by means of the associated software running on a PC system. The PC and EVM are connected using a USB cable. This application report gives an example to demonstrate how to do this through a Windows XP? PC system. The block diagram and connection are shown in Figure 1.

An audio serial interface (ASI) provides a means to transfer non-buffered audio data between processors and/or audio converters. These data are typically encoded in PCM twos complement format, although other format variations may be possible to achieve companding for lower data rate transfers. Audio converters based on the delta-sigma (О”ОЈ) architecture require an internal master clock

TI’s portfolio of audio digital-to-analog converters (DACs) and coder/decoders (codecs) with integrated USB interfaces offers an excellent building block for any streaming USB audio system. When designing with the PCM270x and PCM29xx devices, careful attention must be given to both the clocking and USB hardware configurations in order to ensure proper host to device communication. This applicatio
