Application Notes
- Stacking Multiple bqq2941x Li-Ion Secondary Voltage ProtectorsPDF, 62 Kb, File published: Aug 27, 2007
Li-ion battery applications, requiring five or more series cells, can make use of standard 4-series-cell secondary protectors, such as the bq2941x series. The devices can be stacked as necessary and outputs of individual devices can be combined with optocouplers to produce a single alarm signal if any cell exceeds the threshold. In addition, for undervoltage protection, TLV3011 nanopower comparato - Five to Eight-Series-Cell bq20z80 Fuel GaugePDF, 997 Kb, File published: Sep 10, 2007
Battery fuel gauging applications requiring five- to eight-series cells may not have an obvious solution. While fully functional solutions are anticipated in the future, currently available chipsets tend to address end-products where four-series cells are the maximum. This report presents an inexpensive solution, using the bq20z80 fuel gauge.
