Dual-string dimming LED controller is smart

Marvell 88EM8801

The Marvell 88EM8801 is the first device from the new 8800 family, it is an intelligent dual-string PWM Dimming LED Driver based on DC/DC Buck topology. The chip features intelligent digital controls and a unique current-tuning capability that enables the use of loosely binned, lower-cost LEDs to deliver uniform light output and constant color temperature during the manufacturing process and throughout the long lifespan of the LED lamps themselves.

Marvell - 88EM8801

The device offers PWM dimming controller circuitry and other digital controls to achieve deep dimming levels up to 0.1% with 10-bit PWM control resolution. Specifications include 95% efficiency, up to 40-Vdc input, up to 15-W input power, and up to 800-kHz switching frequency. By offering independent control of two LED strings, the chip allows the mixing of red LEDs with cool white or bluish green LEDs to achieve warmer color and better CRI. It also features soft startup, undervoltage lockout, overcurrent and overtemperature protection, I2C interface for OTP memory programming and communication (Zigbee, Wi-Fi, PLC).
