New Vishay Siliconix Low-Voltage Analog Switches Feature Low On-Resistance Down to 0.6 Ω Maximum at 2.7 V in Space-Saving miniQFN Packages

Vishay released three new dual single pole double throw (SPDT) and dual double pole double throw (DPDT) CMOS low-voltage analog switches. The devices combine low-voltage operation and low on-resistance in small miniQFN packages for audio, SIM card, and multi-purpose signal switching in space-constrained portable end products.

The DG2735A and DG2725 are dual SPDT switches in the miniQFN10 package, designed for an operating range of 1.65 V to 4.3 V. With its guaranteed low 0.6 Ω maximum on-resistance at 2.7 V, and fast turn-on time of 64 ns, and turn-off time of 42 ns at 2.7 V, the DG2735A is ideal for audio output switching in receivers and speakers. The DG2725 offers typical on-resistance of 0.7 Ω at 3 V, while providing lower parasitic capacitance.

The DG2599 has an operation voltage range of 1.65 V to 5 V and can be used as a quad SPDT or dual DPDT switch. The device features the miniQFN16 package, on-resistance of 2.8 Ω typical at 3 V, and − 3dB bandwidth to 186 MHz. Both the DG2725 and DG2599 feature power off protection that guarantees < 1 µA COM1 and COM2 leakage, when V+ = 0 V and VCOM1 or VCOM2 = 4.3 V.

The new DG2735A, DG2725, and DG2599 analog switches are intended for use in consumer, computer, and communication products, including cell phones, PMPs and PDAs, modems and peripherals, computers, eBooks, and tablet products. Guaranteed compatible with 1.65 V logic, they are easily interfaced with low-voltage DSP or MCU control logic, making them well-suited for direct power from a one-cell Li-ion battery.

The devices released feature latch-up protection greater than 300 mA as tested per JESD78, thanks to Vishay’s sub-micron CMOS low-voltage process technology. They conduct signals within power rails equally well in both directions when on, and block signals up to the power supply level when off, with guaranteed break-before-make switching operation.

The switches are halogen-free according to the IEC 61249-2-21 definition and compliant to RoHS directive 2002/95/EC.
