To make it even easier to master the complexity of TriCore™-based 32-bit microcontroller designs, Infineon have released a new TriCore™ Entry Tool Chain.
Compatible with all TriCore™ evaluation kits, this Tool Chain is extremely powerful. The compiler is based on HighTec’s proven, high-performance GNU compiler for TriCore™. The debugger is built on the powerful, easy-to-use PLS debugger (level1 functionality), ensuring you have all the muscle you need to kick-start your TriCore™ development and test project.
In addition, this Entry Tool Chain comes with a full feature set to support all development and test steps. These include an Eclipse-based IDE with numerous, easy-to-use enhancements that make it similar to DAVE™ Bench. To help you define the project properties for device and board support, it also features a new project wizard. Other highlights include an import wizard for DAVE™ projects, a high-performance GNU compiler, a powerful, easy-to-use debugger with an instruction set simulator and Flash programming support.
This Tool Chain is designed to showcase the concrete benefits of high-performance 32-bit TriCore™-based microcontrollers such as TC1797. Targeted specifically at automotive applications, this is the flagship product within the Audo Future family. Its 180MHz award-winning TriCore™ CPU provides high-end microcontroller performance combined with sophisticated DSP capabilities. Exciting features to explore with the Tool Chain include a dedicated peripheral control processor (PCP) to manage on-chip peripherals, fast interrupt response times for low latencies and low performance overhead, 4MB of embedded Flash and a total of 224KB of RAM. Comprehensive tool support also shows just how scalable the TriCore™ family is.
