Infineon continues to enhance its broad portfolio of Hall Switches with four new additions in an SOT23 package – TLE4961-1M, TLE4961-3M, TLE4964-1M, and TLE4964-2M. This brings the number of SOT23 products in its portfolio to eight. Further releases are planned for 2013.

The new switches are aimed at the automotive sector. Owing to strong ESD functionality and precise, highly stable magnetic thresholds overtemperature and lifetime, the new switches meet the high quality needs of this market. With high operating voltages up to 32V, the switches do not require additional resistors and enable easy design-in.

Reduction in external, passive protection components saves PCB space and cuts design and inspection costs. Thanks to average current consumption of just 1.6mA, the new Hall Switch family consumes over 50 percent less energy than comparable products, making it ideal for forward-looking, energy-sensitive systems.

Furthermore, the SOT23 package is 30 percent smaller than comparable packages and is pin-compatible with SC59 and SOT23W packages. Its small footprint cuts costs and ensures great value for customers.
