Infineon's new CoolSET™ T-series is the perfect fit for smart meter applications. These integrated power management ICs feature 650 V/ 800 V avalanche rugged CoolMOS™ technology, startup cells and a fixed frequency current mode flyback PWM controller family. The series is available in a DIP-7/DIP-8 package. The CoolSET™ T-series is ideal for 13 W/13.6 W or 24 W SMPS designs. Additional features include brownout, active burst mode for extremely low standby power consumption, frequency jitter for low EMI, an adjustable blanking window for load jumps and high voltage startup cells for fast power-up from the rectified line.
The new series also features a 650 V quasi resonant version in a DIP-8 package that is suitable for 16 W SMPS designs (ICE2QR4765-T). Thanks to its digital frequency reduction feature, this IC ensures very stable operation with decreasing load while the fold-back correction feature keeps the maximum power limits within the tolerance required by SMPS designers. The series delivers best-in-class consumption during standby (<50 mW) thanks to its market-leading active burst mode during low power consumption.
