Avago ACNT-H790

The Avago ACNT-H790 is a high-linearity optically isolated amplifier device in 14.2 mm wide creepage and clearance, designed for current and voltage sensing applications in systems such as motor drives and renewable energy inverters. In a typical motor drive implementation, the ACNT-H790 can be used to sense a voltage drop across a sense resistor. A differential output voltage that is proportional to the current across the resistor is created on the other side of the optical isolation barrier.

The ACNT-H790 has ±3% gain tolerance and offers wide 14.2 mm creepage and clearance with a common-mode transient immunity of 15 kV/µs, which provides the precision and stability needed to accurately monitor motor current in noisy motor control environment. Accurate current monitoring enables smoother motor control (less “torque ripple”) for various types of motor applications.

The ACNT-H790 operates on a single 5 V supply and provides excellent linearity with an SNR of 60 dB. With 200 kHz bandwidth and 1.6-µs fast response time, the device captures transients in short circuit and overload conditions.
