The Avago AEDR-872x is a 3-channel reflective optical encoder device providing dual channel analog outputs and an index channel digital output. The differential analog outputs (Sin, /Sin, Cos, /Cos) can interface directly with most commercially available interpolator devices for high precision motion control measurements. As such, the device provides great design-in flexibility and can enhance the performance of existing motion control system.
The AEDR-872x houses an LED light source and a photo-detecting circuitry in a compact package. The miniature package coupled with low operating 5.0 V option allows the device to be used in a wide range of space-constrained, low-power applications like portable devices in which space and power dissipation are primary concern. The device is designed to operate over -20 to +85 °C temperature range suitable for both commercial and industrial end applications.
