Murata have substantially expanded product lineup of AEC-Q200-compliant high-frequency inductors for automobiles (infotainment applications and powertrain/safety applications).

Along with growing awareness of the environment, energy and safety, progress has been made in the vehicle-mounted equipment market in recent years with the inclusion of electrical power systems and secondary batteries in electric and hybrid vehicles as well as the electrification of various electrical devices and the enhancement of safety system functionality.

In addition, the need to connect to outside communication systems is increasing, and the beginnings of wireless connectivity are starting to appear. Building on that trend, developers are aiming to develop vehicle-mounted equipment that integrates driving systems and safety systems, known as In-Vehicle Infotainment or IVI.

Given this climate, demand has become stronger for miniaturization and greater performance of high-frequency inductors used in RF circuit matching and choke coils inside vehicle-mounted equipment. Additionally, demand has also become stronger for compliance with AEC-Q200, a standard for electronic devices in vehicles.
