February 26, 2004- Fairchild Semiconductor introduces three new PowerSaver
TM products in its Fairchild Power Switch (FPS
TM) family of products: the
FSDM0565R,
FSDM07652R and the
FSDM0365RN, featuring low standby power and low EMI for improved performance in video system applications. In compliance with the International Energy Agency's (IEA) "1-Watt Initiative," PowerSaver FPS components achieve low standby power by using an integrated high-voltage startup regulator in conjunction with Fairchild's advanced burst mode standby operation. These products utilize a precision, fixed frequency oscillator, and frequency modulation for the FSDM0365RN, to limit EMI. Fairchild's FPS products combine an avalanche-rated SenseFET (650V minimum breakdown rating) for current sensing with a current mode PWM IC--an integration that minimizes external components, simplifies designs, and lowers design costs. These highly integrated FPS devices include pulse-by-pulse current limiting, internal soft start to reduce voltage overshoot at plug in, overload protection, over-current protection, over-voltage protection, under-voltage lockout with hysteresis, and internal thermal shutdown.
The FSDM0365RN is available in an 8-pin DIP package and the FSDM0565R and FSDM07652R are available in an isolated, 6-leaded TO-220 package. The packages are lead-free (Pb-free) and meet or exceed the requirements of the joint IPC/JEDEC standard J-STD-020B and are compliant with the European Union requirements, which will take effect in 2005.
Price: (per 1K pcs): FSDM0565R: US$ 1.32, FSDM07652R: US$ 1.58, and FSDM0365RN: US$ 1.11.
