Texas Instruments (TI) Introduces Wide Bandwidth Video Switches That Optimize RGB and Composite Video Switching Applications

Texas Instruments TS5V330 TS3V330

May 18, 2004 - Texas Instruments (TI) announced the addition of two new Specialty Switches to its TS family of signal switches, the TS5V330 and the TS3V330. Leveraging its extensive expertise and knowledge in digital switch design and advanced process technology, TI is providing high-performance solutions to switching between multiple video sources. Both of the system-solution switches are Quad Single-Pole Double-Throw (SPDT) Video Switches, with the TS5V330 supporting an operating range from 4.5V to 5.5V and the TS3V330 operational from 3.0V to 3.6V. TS5V330 TS3V330
Suited for composite and RGB video applications, the TS5V330 and the TS3V330 offer low differential gain and phase (TS5V: Dg=0.64%, Dp=0.1degree Typ./ TS3V: Dg=0.82%, DP=0.1degree Typ). A wide bandwidth of 300MHz Min coupled with low ON-State Resistance (TS5V: Ron=3 ohms Typ./ TS3V: Ron=5ohms Typ.) and low crosstalk (TS5V: Xtalk=-63dB Typ./ TS3V: Xtalk=-80dB Typ.) make the devices appropriate for high frequency video applications, such as multiplexing/demultiplexing video signals on VGA cards. Both devices are also fully specified for partial-power-down applications using Ioff.

Pricing and Availability
Both the TS5V330 and the TS3V330 are currently available to sample. The TS5V330 and the TS3V330 are offered in the space saving 16-pin QFN (RGY) package along with the SSOP (DBQ), and TSSOP (PW) packaging. Budgetary pricing for both the TS5V330 is set at $1.12 in quantities of 1,000 and TS3V330 is set at $1.36 in quantities of 1,000.
