Asahi Kasei Microdevices Corporation, (AKM), has released the AK4377A, a D/A converter with headphone amplifier. This is the newer and higher performing solution compared to the AK4376A, (a 2017 release), which has been adopted by many portable audio products. The AK4377A inherits the same circuit architecture as the AK4377, designed for high-end digital audio players, which enhances audio performance and maintains low-power consumption. It is ideal for Hi-Fi specialized smartphones.
Features
- The higher performance replacement to the AK4376A that has been adopted by many smartphones
VELVET SOUND technology, used in AKM’s premium D/A converters for high-end audio products, has been further optimized for smartphones. The distortion characteristics of the high output power is improved compared with the AK4376A. The AK4377A achieves –106 dB THD+N at 25 mW output power. The AK4377A can reproduce the full original sound source, even while playing at loud volumes.
- Audio characteristics are maintained even with a small circuit board
The AK4377A adopts an architecture which suppresses deterioration characteristics caused by external parts and the board layout. Therefore, it can provide stable and high-performance audio even on a highly integrated board such as one built for smartphones.
