El Camino's DIGILAB Development Kits Now Available with Altera's Stratix and Excalibur Devices
Altera Corporation and El Camino GmbH announced the immediate availability of two new development kits for customers building powerful system-on-a-programmable-chip (SOPC) solutions with Altera's StratixTM and ExcaliburTM devices. El Camino's DIGILAB SX development kit includes a Stratix device and is built to support powerful network processing applications. The DIGILAB XA development kit includes an Excalibur device and is designed specifically to support embedded processing applications.
The DIGILAB SX development kit is a high-end prototyping system based on Altera's Stratix device family. It provides system designers with an economical solution for hardware prototyping and verification. Any Altera Stratix device in a 956-pin BGA package is supported, from an EP1S30 device to an EP1S80 device with approximately 80,000 logic elements (LEs) and more than 7 Mbits of embedded RAM. Together with two completely independent SODIMM sockets and two general-purpose prototype headers, the DIGILAB SX kit can be used to setup very powerful processing and prototyping systems.
The DIGILAB XA development kit is El Camino's next-generation high-performance, highly integrated processor modules providing a number of user-definable network interfaces as well as general purpose I/O pins all within the industrial standardized 3U CompactPCI format. The DIGILAB XA kit utilizes Altera's EPXA4 or EPXA10 Excalibur embedded processor FPGAs incorporating an ARM922Tв„ў processor running at 200 MHz, single-or dual-port SRAM, and an available programmable logic portion of more than 1 million system gates.
