A growing number of applications such as cameras used in cars for enhancing driver safety and cameras for video surveillance demand sophisticated video analysis for pattern detection, recognition and classification features. The CV220X series of programmable ICPs meet these demands by enabling real-time embedded image and video analytics powered by massively parallel array processor technology (APEX).

The key features of the CV220X ICPs include a multi-core architecture for highest performance among equivalent power and size alternatives, a comprehensive SDK including video and image applications as well as image cognition libraries, and support for DVB-H, DVB-T and ATSC-MH mobile TV standards. The CV2201 is stacked with 128 MB SDRAM, the CV2202 interfaces with large external SDRAM, and the CV2203 is stacked with 128 MB SDRAM and 1Gb NAND flash in a package on package (PoP) BGA.

A comprehensive reference design kit (RDK) for the CV2202 is available to help customers shorten design and engineering cycles and reduce time to market. This highly integrated platform features a WVGA (800 × 480) LCD, interchangeable camera modules with RDK offering 5 Mpixel sensor capability, 128 MB NAND and 128 MB DDR SDRAM, a touchscreen controller, SPI and I2C interfaces for add-on module support (GPS RF, DVB-H/T and ATSC-M/H), an Li-ion charger, RTC and PMU, and an audio codec.
