Designed to drive high-current LEDs at constant current, the H-grade version LT3517 LED drivers features a 3 to 30-V input voltage range with a transient protection to 40 V. The part operates with a junction temperature up to 150°C and can drive up to four 300-mA white LEDs from a nominal 12-V input — making it ideal for applications such as automotive display backlighting.
Features include efficiencies up to 90% in boost mode, a 5,000:1 True Color PWM dimming ratio, a shutdown current of less than 1 µA, and an adjustable frequency of 250 kHz to 2.5 MHz. Housed in a 16-pin QFN package, the driver also features open LED protection. For less demanding dimming requirements, the CTRL pin can be used to provide 10:1 analog dimming.
