Holtek announced the release of the its new Tinypower A/D type Flash MCU, the HT45F12.
The HT45F12 meets with the full industrial specification requirements of -40°C~ 85°C operating temperature and has the characteristics of high noise immunity. As it is manufactured using Holtek's Tinypower architecture technology, it offers significant reductions with regard to MCU current consumption. The device contains integrated dual Operational Amplifiers and dual Comparators, making it very suitable for the applications that have analog signal amplification and voltage comparison requirements. By also including Holtek's In-Circuit programming technology, users have a convenient means to update their application programs easily and quickly. The device also contains an area of internal EEPROM, which can be used to store related calibration values and other data during the production process or which can be programmed during normal MCU operation. This type of memory offers data retention even when the power supply is removed.
In the area of functionality, this new device includes a Flash Program Memory capacity of 1K Words, an EEPROM Data Memory capacity of 32 bytes, a SRAM Data Memory capacity of 64 bytes and 18 I/O pins. The device also has dual comparators and dual OPAs with a programmable gain function, having a gain range of 1 to 56. With regard to system oscillators, in addition to the high speed external crystal and external RC oscillators, the device also includes a fully internal high frequency RC Oscillator, with a tolerance of ±2% at a certain temperature and voltage. The 4-level Low Voltage Reset function allows detection of low voltages and provides an additional protection feature against MCU malfunction when less than perfect environmental conditions such as high noise exist.
Supplied in two package types, 16-pin NSOP and 20-pin SSOP, with its special tiny power characteristics, high noise immunity, high level of functional integration and application flexibility, the HT45F12 gives designers an excellent MCU solution for products which require low power, small outline, low cost and high performance such as home security products, home appliances, handheld products, industrial control, consumer electronics and automotive peripheral products.
To support this device, Holtek provides a full suite of hardware and software development tools. Known as the HT-IDE3000, this suite of Windows based tools includes an In-Circuit-Emulator, full trace analysis functions, device programmer features and a range of application user guides etc to ensure that users have their designs debugged and up and running in the shortest time possible.
