Second Wave of PROFET+ 24 V Devices Takes Modularity to the Next Level

Infineon is launching the second wave of its next-generation PROFET™+ 24 V smart high-side switches. The new switches include three single-channel devices with 20, 30 and 50mΩ (BTT6020-1EKA, BTT6030-2EKA, BTT6050-1EKA) and one 30mΩ dual-channel device (BTT6030-1EKA).

As with the PROFET™+ 24 V lead product, BTT6050-2EKA, all four new products provide excellent diagnostics and protection features. They are specifically designed to drive light bulbs and LEDs in harsh automotive environments, for example in trucks and agricultural machines and in any other 24 V supply voltage applications.

All PROFET™+ products have an identical feature set – in other words, if you know one device, you know them all. PROFET™+ 24 V devices offer 65 V (min.) load dump protection and very low standby-current (0.5 µA). The benchmark short circuit robustness extends system lifetime. Thanks to their high current sense accuracy, the switches can diagnose the smallest loads including LEDs. Their identical package footprint ensures optimum design flexibility and enables designers to change loads and devices without having to make major modifications to board layout. This 100% pin to pin compatibility between the 12 V and 24 V families takes modularity to the next level.

The PROFET™+ 24 V family will comprise nine devices in total ranging from 12 to 200 mΩ. These will be available in PG-DSO-14, PG-DSO-8 and PG-SSOP-24 packages.
