Designed for portable multimedia devices, the MAX9820 stereo headphone amplifier uses the company’s DirectDrive architecture to eliminate clicks and pops, as well as the large output-coupling capacitors required by conventional single-supply headphone amplifiers. The MAX9820 also suppresses RF radiation, thus preventing the amplifier from demodulating the coupled noise.
The part operates from a 2.7 to 5.5-V single supply and delivers 95 mW of output power (32 §Щ, VDD = 5 V). It consumes less than 1 µA in shutdown mode and 3 mA during quiescent operation. Housed in a 10-pin TDFN, the MAX9820 also integrates undervoltage lockout and protection against thermal overload and short-circuit events. (From $0.44 ea/1,000 — available now.)
