Fairchild Semiconductor offers designers of High Definition LCD-TVs, Blue Ray DVD players and HD set-top boxes the industry’s first 6-Channel integrated video filter with 1080p HD capability. This new device simultaneously supports three channels of 1080p HD with filtering at 75 MHz and three channels of SD at 8 MHz. This 6-Channel video filter also offers very robust ESD protection of 9kV, protecting applications from adverse electrostatic discharge events and eliminating the need for discrete protection devices. Part of the industry’s largest portfolio of video filters, the FMS6646 is the second member of Fairchild’s video filter family to support 1080p HD.
The FMS6646 offers a fixed gain of 6dB.
The FMS6646 may be directly driven by a DC-coupled DAC output or an AC-coupled signal. Internal diode clamps and bias circuitry may be used if AC-coupled inputs are required (see the Applications Information section for details). The outputs can drive AC- or DC-coupled single (150W) video loads. DC-coupling the outputs removes the need for output coupling capacitors. The input DC levels are offset approximately +280 mV at the output.
