Infineon introduced its first single-chip radar solution for applications in industrial and commercial sensing. Based on the SiGe:C process technology and operating in the 24GHz ISM band (24.0 – 24.25GHz), the new BGT24MTR11 radar transceiver is the highest integrated system currently in the market. With the matching Twin Receiver BGT24MR2 or as BGT24MTR12 which combines a Transmitter and two Receiver Channels, a lot of different system architectures can be served by combining the individual components. It helps system designers achieve cost and performance targets for a diverse range of applications, including tank level metering, intruder alarms and door-opening systems.
The single-chip solutions in an industry standard QFN style package reduce the required board area of up to 30% compared to discrete solutions in the market.
The resulting compact design, system flexibility and cost effective solution makes the BGT24MTRxx useful for improving performance in existing applications and replacing alternative technologies.
